faq

where do lessons take place?
we use an office space situated in the heart of Cardiff Bay for lessons. Alternatively, if you are within a 10 mile radius of Cardif city centre, a tutor can come to your home.

what does your name "cari-amici" mean?
we hope after your first lesson you won't have to ask this! cari-amici is Italian for "dear friends" which symbolises the way we like to run our classes.

how many people can be in a class?
private classes are limited from 1-3 students. A discounted rate is available if you share the session with another student of similar ability.

what do the residential courses include?
we can tailor a "learning break" to suit any requirement. Generally you arrange your flights to Italy and we arrange everything from the airport transfer onwards to the date of your departure.

do you cater for any other languages?
we primarily cater for Italian lessons, however we do have tutors skilled in other languages such as German, French and Spanish on our books who are available upon request for private lessons or translation services.

are your courses accredited to an academic body?
many of the evening classes undertaken by our tutors for local authorities are OCN accredited. A lot of students also come along to improve their skills in parallel with classes in university or council learning centres. We can also teach according to a GCSE or A-Level syllabus so that students may sit an open examination.

how much do lessons cost?
we operate on a competitive rate for sessions lasting around 1.5 hours. Discounts are available if you block book 10 or more lessons, or if you attend with a partner or agree to share the sessions with another student (which we recommend as it can enhance the learning experience).

what else can you offer?
some of our students are comletely fluent in their second language and choose to attend private sessions to practice conversational skills or familiarise with Italian culture and current affairs. Why not book some sessions to tune up your skills over a coffee in an Italian cafe!
